Environmental Awareness

At Gene Hyde Trucking we are making every attempt to improve our carbon foot print. Below is a listing of some of the most impactful efforts we’ve recently implemented. We recognize that as your partner our efforts to reduce fuel consumption have ripple effects through the supply chain.

Reduced Fuel Consumption

  • January 2008 we started converting our entire fleet of trucks to Super Single tires and rims.
  • May 2008 we began converting our trailers to Super Single tires and rims.
  • 62 MPH to reduce fuel consumption and improve the safety of our fleet.
  • We programmed our trucks for progressive shifting.
  • Our trucks are all equipped with aerodynamic packages.
  • April 2008 we replaced old poor aerodynamic trucks with more fuel efficient trucks.
  • Installing no idle/low idle equipment on our trucks.
  • We are in the process of becoming members of the EPA SmartWay program. (we are confident that we will begin with an excellent carrier score)
